A strong college admissions essay is an important component of the college application process. Think of the essay as an opportunity to demonstrate your writing skills and talk about something unique and interesting about you with the college.

1. Grab Their Attention. College admissions officers take a lot of time reading through applications and the essay is a great place to spark their interest. Make certain your intro is strong and unique. It should help make the person reading your essay delighted to read through more. Vivid details and imagery helps make your essay be noticeable.

2. Shoot for Clearness. Big vocabulary words dont lead to a better essay. You merely have 500 words for the application essay and its your duty to make each one count. Use straightforward, brief language. If you can say something in fewer words, do it.

It will give you a refreshed perspective on your writing and help you make necessary changes.

10. Get Help. It may be beneficial giving your admissions essay to a loved one or teacher to read over and edit. Ask distinct questions about what they took away from your essay or what concerns they may have after going through it. They will also be able to let you know if it is an effective reflection of you.
